The Amanah home finance will cover the following types of products:
You and HSBC Amanah will enter into a joint ownership arrangement; the purpose of which is to acquire a home identified by you. The initial investment by you will be your contribution towards the property ownership, and the Bank's contribution will be the financing amount.
Under the Diminishing Musharakah structure, (the Bank acting as principal joint owner), the Bank will enter into an Ijarah agreement with you, i.e. bank leases its portion of the home to you. The monthly payment will consist of two parts, the first part is a rental for the bank's share of the property, and the second is an equity redemption amount (by which you buy a share of the bank's ownership). By the end of the lease period, you will have purchased all remaining share of the property from the bank and will be the sole owner, bringing an end to the Musharakah agreement.
A Global Shariah Advisory Board and regional Shariah committees consisting of independent Shariah scholars advise HSBC Amanah on matters related to Shariah.
